As a common family ritual—draw a card in the morning or as part of your weekly routine. At the end of the day or week, discuss with whom an event occurred that made this affirmation useful.

Get to know your child—and yourself—leaf through the cards together and talk about them. Which one resonates with them most? Who usually says this to them? Which one makes them feel loved and safe? In addition to the affirmations, let the illustrations speak to you.

Place it where they see it every day—choose together the cards they need most right now and place them in a visible spot. These images not only empower them but also remind us, as adults, of the values we represent in the family.

For 4-7 year olds, the pictures speak most; help them understand the sentences and translate them into their own language. With 8-10 year olds, you can interpret the affirmations together and share your own experiences. From 11 years old, they can already use them themselves—and recall them internally when needed.

Let the affirmations also impact us, adults. Consider what you received from these in your childhood, and which affirmations you, as an adult, still need to work on.

Be honest and understanding with yourself, as very few of us received these permissive and encouraging phrases in our childhood. Most of us work for them throughout our lives.
